Railcar Inspector

GATX, a leading railcar leasing and maintenance company in North America, India, and Europe, is seeking a skilled Railcar Inspector to join our team. This exciting opportunity offers a stable and safety-focused work environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

As a Railcar Inspector at GATX, you will be responsible for performing inbound and outbound inspections on various types of railroad cars and equipment. Your duties will include maintaining certifications necessary to perform routine and non-periodic inspections, preparing accurate and detailed estimates of all necessary repairs, and selecting the appropriate materials for repair and estimation processes.

You will also be expected to perform Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and prework activities, create add-ons and/or supplements by ensuring the proper selection of materials, and complete all required documentation to ensure accurate billing and communication of completed repairs.

To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma coupled with 2-5 years of experience in Inspection, railcar repair or connected activities. You should also possess knowledge of Technical Instructions (EN), Improvement Orders (IO) and Maintenance Instructions (FM), as well as the ability to read and understand technical documents, procedures, instructions, etc.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $24.26 to $36.83 per hour, depending on experience and shift premium.
