About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Take-Two Interactive Software. As a key member of our Direct to Consumer team, you will be responsible for designing and building high-performance, scalable, and secure distributed systems that power our backend services for millions of concurrent users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the core team that powers our backend services.
- Build and own the core systems that form the architecture of our backend services.
- Drive the qualitative aspects of the backend services, including performance, scalability, observability, reliability, and security.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supporting their career and technical development.
- Build a culture passionate about performance and gamer experience.
- Support multiple titles, with various levels of technical maturity, in integrating our services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience, with a proven track record of shipping highly scalable and robust large-scale distributed backend systems.
- Strong experience in one or more of the following languages for backend development: Java, Go, C#, C++, Python, Erlang.
- Experience in designing and building high-performance and highly fault-tolerant and secure distributed systems.
- Experience in designing APIs that you'd be happy to support forever.
- Experience with large-scale distributed databases.
- Experience in building and deploying systems on top of AWS and/or GCP.
- Self-starter, self-driven to produce results and continually improve.
- Experience and comfortable in supporting a live service environment.
- Able to lead and work with a distributed team.
- BA/MS degree in computer science or a related field.

The pay range for this position in British Columbia, Canada at the start of employment is expected to be between 110,000 and 145,000 CAD per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
