Job Title: Butcher - Meat Cutter

We are seeking a skilled Butcher - Meat Cutter to join our team at CAFÉ BISTRO DU HAVRE. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for cutting and preparing meats for our customers.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in meat cutting and preparation, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for cutting carcasses, sides, and quarters, as well as preparing special cuts of meat ordered by customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat
  • Wrap and package prepared meats
  • Remove bones from meat
  • Weigh meats for sale
  • Cut poultry into parts
  • Price meat products
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish
  • Sell meats to customers
  • Cut fish into steaks and fillets
  • Grind meats
  • Make special sausages
  • Slice cooked meats
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood
Requirements:
  • Meat Cutter Trade Certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Ability to work in a cold environment
