Environmental Specialist

The Administration régionale Kativik (ARK) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Environmental Specialist. This role is a key part of our team, responsible for developing and implementing environmental education programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and adapt environmental training tools and programs for public access
  • Establish partnerships with stakeholders to promote environmental education and awareness
  • Prepare grant applications and write reports to support environmental initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Environment and Land Use Planning team on targeted and public consultations
  • Work with consultants and external stakeholders to carry out environmental education projects
  • Review documentation and compile environmental information for proposed projects and policies
Requirements:
  • University degree in education or a related field
  • Minimum three years' relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, and English
  • Willingness to travel frequently throughout Nunavik
Work Environment:

Kuujjuaq, Quebec

Compensation:

Minimum $58,466/year; maximum $100,085/year

Benefits:
  • Cost-of-living allowance: minimum of $8,500/year
  • Food allowance: minimum of $3,707/year
  • Annual leave trips: maximum of three trips per person per year
  • Group plan, including simplified pension plan
  • Vacation: 20 days a year
  • Public holidays: 19 days, including 10 days over Christmas
