We are seeking a highly skilled Disaster Response Coordinator to join our team at BC Emergency Health Services. As a key member of our emergency management team, you will be responsible for coordinating disaster response efforts, developing and implementing emergency management plans, and providing consultative advice to management and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Disaster Response Coordination: Coordinate disaster response efforts, including developing and implementing emergency management plans, and providing consultative advice to management and staff.
- Emergency Management Planning: Develop, implement, and maintain emergency management plans, including business continuity plans, to ensure the continuity of operations during emergencies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including health authority programs, to determine emergency management strategies and support plan development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Education and Training: Develop and deliver education programs for healthcare staff, physicians, volunteers, and contractors on business continuity and emergency management.
- Incident Response: Provide leadership and guidance during emergency incidents, including coordinating communication strategies and developing promotional materials.
- Project Management: Lead and project manage multi-stakeholder/cross-sector projects, including developing and implementing project plans and ensuring timely completion.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in emergency management, health-related area, social sciences, geography, business administration, or related field.
- Experience: Five years' recent related experience in a large institutional or campus environment, including two years' experience managing business continuity and/or emergency management programs.
- Skills: Knowledge of emergency management and business continuity issues in a healthcare setting, interpersonal and negotiation skills, ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, and ability to plan, implement, coordinate, and direct programs and activities.
- Competitive Salary: $74,618 - $107,264 per year.
