About the Job:


This field staff position is part of our dynamic team working on construction services, providing general labor assistance in implementing ecological restoration projects with a focus on habitat restoration and resource management.


As a Field Staff, you will have opportunities to contribute to restoring TRCA's watersheds, including stream, shoreline, and wetland restoration projects as well as trail construction in natural environments.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Execute various field work duties related to specific project/program areas.
  • Collect and input field data according to project scope.
  • Evaluate quality control and assurance measures at all steps of the work process.
  • Conduct traffic control duties on project sites.
  • Operate required machinery and equipment for executing work duties.
  • Assist in transporting materials to and from sites as needed.
  • Direct the public to project notice signage and provide contact information for additional inquiries.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, including tailgate meetings, hazard identification, and emergency planning.
  • Maintain equipment and report potential maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintain storage and organization of equipment.


Requirements:



  • Pursuing a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
  • Valid Class G2 Driver's License.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification.
  • Familiarity with basic equipment and power tools.
  • Effective communication skills with tact and courtesy.
  • Ability to identify problems proactively and seek support to solve issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for general office communications.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, related Regulations, and legislation.
  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 45lbs.

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
