Job Title: Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current certification in BCLS
  • Recent experience in Critical Care Nursing with experience in the care of complex patient populations
  • Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
  • Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
  • Strong interprofessional and communication skills
  • Certification or completion of Lead II Arrhythmia Interpretation Program
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or recent continuing education in Critical Care Nursing
  • Current certifications in TNCC, PALS, ENPC, and ACLS
