We are a reputable furniture restoration company seeking a skilled Upholstery Craftsperson to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for restoring and refinishing furniture to its original glory.
Key Responsibilities:- Customer Service: Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
- Furniture Restoration: Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts to extend the lifespan of our clients' furniture.
- Ornamental Work: Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a touch of elegance to our restored furniture.
- Repair and Refinish: Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.
- Custom Designs: Create custom designs for clients who want a unique piece of furniture.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in furniture restoration or a related field.
- Work Environment: Dusty work environment.
- Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colours, and a combination of sitting, standing, walking.
- 40 hours per week.
- Permanent work term.
- Work language: English.
