We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Amherstview area. As a Nurse Practitioner with RhynoCare, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of long-term and acute care facilities, providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
- Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
Requirements:
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year, as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible shift times, depending on the facility, eight (8) or twelve (12) hours in length.
- Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
- Must be reliable (once availability is given) to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
- Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy (provided for review upon hiring).
