Baxter Trucking Ltd is seeking a skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team in the heavy haulage division.
As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various routes. Your expertise in navigating through challenging terrains and ensuring timely deliveries will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of service excellence.
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health care plan and opportunities for career growth within our organization.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about transportation and logistics. As a Logistics Specialist, you will work closely with our drivers and operations team to ensure seamless communication and efficient execution of daily tasks.
Your primary responsibility will be to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. You will also oversee the condition of your vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment regularly.
In addition to driving duties, you will perform emergency roadside repairs, pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of your vehicle's maintenance. We require individuals with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
- First Aid Certificate
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Strong attention to detail and physical stamina
