We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Activity Aide to join our team at the Senior's Health Centre, North York General Hospital. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and execute therapeutic and recreational activities for residents, in accordance with established policy and physician orders.
- Collaborate with the activity team to ensure a comprehensive and meaningful activity program that meets the diverse needs of our residents.
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless and supportive care environment.
- Stay up-to-date with internal and external policies, legislation, and best practices in long-term care to ensure compliance and excellence in care delivery.
- A 2-year post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a long-term care setting, with a focus on activity programming and resident engagement.
- Experience using RAI – MDS assessments and knowledge of MOHLTC legislation, regulations, and processes.
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset.
