Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Empire Life is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Development Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting activities related to commercial and consumer loans and block acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess loan opportunities and provide recommendations based on underwriting results.
  • Manage pipeline in conjunction with relationship managers and support collection of data required to underwrite advisor loans.
  • Compile and analyze data to underwrite loans, prepare detailed financial models and covenant reviews, and provide sound risk assessments and recommendations.
  • Liaise with various internal departments as required throughout the process.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree with courses in business, accounting, or finance.
  • 5+ years' work experience developing, executing, and improving financial reporting and analysis in a corporate environment.
  • Insurance or Financial Services experience is valuable.
  • Bilingualism (French & English) would be an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and balance multiple tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, logical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed organizational, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be decisive and show consistently good judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate and build relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate financial results to senior audiences.
  • Ability to manage time to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis.
