Job Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical analysis and design in both industrial and utility sectors
  • Design and integrate protective relaying systems
  • Develop and implement industrial/ utility substation automation solutions
  • Conduct electrical studies, including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies
  • Create, modify, review, and approve electrical drawing packages
  • Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including MCCs, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays, and controls
  • Troubleshoot electrical system problems and develop practical solutions
  • Support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities
  • Conduct onsite engineering inspections and data collection
Qualifications
  • A four-year Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Understanding of industrial/utility protection and relay systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584)
  • Experience with electrical engineering software, such as EasyPower, SKM, and ETAP, is considered an asset
  • Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their capabilities is considered an asset
  • A valid driver's license and clean abstract are required for fieldwork
  • Fluency in English is required

Pay Scale
  • $35 to $50 per hour, depending on experience
  • Overtime after 8 hours, double time after 10 hours
