Department Manager

About the Role:
The Department Manager - Nights is responsible for managing the merchandise stocking process and ensuring full shelf capacity standards are met. This includes supervising and training associates, managing associate performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage through influencing scheduling of associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the merchandise stocking process and ensure full shelf capacity standards are met.
- Supervise and train associates to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Manage associate performance and provide feedback to improve their performance.
- Ensure adequate department coverage through influencing scheduling of associates.
- Ensure communication between day and night shifts.
- Ensure the distribution and stocking of direct freight.
- Generate reports and track Freight Flow metrics.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews and noting hazards.
- Provide superior customer service by assisting customers in locating, selecting, demonstrating, and loading merchandise in a friendly and professional manner.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months stocking/receiving/inventory experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 1 year experience working in a retail store or customer service position, 1 year supervisory experience, and 3 months experience operating forklift/power equipment.
