Dietary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietary Technician to join our team at Surrey Memorial Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct nutritional screenings for malnutrition risk using standardized forms and provide information to Registered Dietitians for further evaluation.
• Visit patients and/or families during assigned meal rounds to obtain and exchange diet, diet-related information, diet history, food preference, and acceptance.
• Review medical records and liaise with other staff to obtain information; input diet and diet-related information into a computerized system.
• Prepare and oversee the inventory of specialty formula and related items including ordering, receiving, and directing storage of supplies.
• Maintain manuals and statistical information for the department and participate in the department's Quality Assurance Program.

Requirements:

• Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service Supervision, plus one (1) year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current Food Safe Level II certificate.
