Cost Commodity Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Cost Commodity Specialist to join our team at RONA Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading company in the industry, where you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing the costs of various commodities used in our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of commodities, including raw materials, components, and finished goods, with a focus on identifying cost increases linked to market fluctuations.
- Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to forecast commodity prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the merchandizing team to help them align their pricing negotiation, terms, and contracts, ensuring the best value for the company.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with commodity price volatility and supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain and update databases with relevant cost and market data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Work with various departments to align commodity strategies with overall business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in cost analysis.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in conducting market research to monitor price fluctuations.
- Precision in managing data and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Clear and concise communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
