Job Summary

The Upper Canada District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Custodian to join our facilities operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of our worksites and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of custodial staff to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of our worksites.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Conduct regular inspections of our worksites to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Operations Manager to develop and implement facilities maintenance plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and protocols.
Requirements
  • Secondary school diploma required.
  • Completion of three modules of the Building Environmental Systems (BES) course or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Three or more years of cleaning and maintenance experience and demonstrated experience in small equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to obtain specific courses and/or certifications relevant to the worksite, such as water treatment certificate, lockout/tag out, fall arrest, WHMIS, etc.
