Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at FortisBC. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing business information requirements and translating these requirements into conceptual and logical data models.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with business units and departments to analyze business information requirements and develop data infrastructure that supports the business.
- Develop and maintain data architecture and data models at the conceptual and logical levels.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of tools and technologies to support data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
- Establish and maintain relationships with outsourcing partners and vendors to support implementation of database designs into physical databases.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence reporting to address business decision support requirements.
- Identify data ownership issues across the enterprise and participate in the development of data architecture, policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration from a recognized program.
- Five years of recent, related experience.
- Knowledge of business systems analysis, conceptual and logical data models, and database design.
- Ability to manage medium to large database design and implementation projects.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and make sound judgments.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
