Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

Direct-Way Trucking Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Perform Emergency Roadside Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to ensure that the truck is safe to operate and can continue on its route.
  • Perform Pre-Trip, En Route, and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure that the truck is in good working condition and to identify any potential issues.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure that the truck is running efficiently.
  • Receive and Relay Information: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all parties are informed of any changes or issues.
  • Record Cargo Information: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Tarping and Ensuring Safety and Security of Cargo: Ensure that all cargo is properly tarped and secured to prevent damage or loss during transit.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License: A valid Class 1 or A driver's license is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Long Haul Truck Driver is required.
  • Certifications: A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a valid medical certificate are required.
Working Conditions:

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. You will be required to spend long periods of time on the road, away from home, and may be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
