Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage building science projects, including building envelope assessments, energy audits, retrofits, and new construction consulting.
- Prepare project proposals, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Perform detailed analysis of building envelope systems, including thermal, moisture, and structural performance.
- Conduct site inspections, diagnostic testing, and forensic investigations to identify building performance issues.
- Develop and review design solutions, specifications, and technical reports related to building science.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and sustainability guidelines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, reviewing their work.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Building Science, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in building science with a strong focus on building envelope design and analysis.
- Proven experience managing complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Proficiency in building science software tools and programs, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, and CAD software.
- Understanding of building codes, model national energy code, ASTM standards, CGSB standards, and CSA standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
