Job Title: Airport Security Officer

Paladin Security is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Security Officer to join our team at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a professional who can ensure the safety and security of all passengers, workers, and flight personnel by monitoring the Primary Security Line or PSL at various gates and access points. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the restricted areas beyond the PSL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the terminal areas and perimeter for safety concerns and suspicious behaviors.
  • Ensure all tenants and guests are adhering to the regulations laid out by Transport Canada.
  • Perform regular patrols of airport facilities to ensure security and safety measures are upheld.
  • Conduct routine safety checks throughout the property.
  • Respond to emergency situations and act as incident commander until relieved by first responders.
  • Detect, respond, and manage emergencies as directed by the Security Operations Centre (SOC).
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, including working under pressure.
  • Discretion when handling confidential and private information.
  • Ability to pass a security clearance and hold a RAIC.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and overnight shifts.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the airport.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Must have a valid First Aid & CPR certificate.
