About the Role

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the position of Emergency Educational Assistant. This role is designed to provide support to students with diverse needs, ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with students who require additional support, providing assistance with behavior, safety, medical, and physical needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with lifting, positioning, and transferring children and equipment, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support and coordination.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the role, including lifting and transferring children and equipment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with students with special needs and behavioral disabilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
