CanWel Building Materials is a leading Canadian public company with operations in Canada and the United States. As a Finance intern, you will gain practical experience in many areas of a Finance department such as corporate finance, public company accounting, internal audit, and taxation utilizing an ERP system, analytical software, and tax preparation software.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data for various projects using analytical software and an ERP system
  • Prepare tax filings using tax preparation software
  • Contribute to internal control projects
  • Complete Statistics Canada reports

Requirements

Key Qualifications

  • Effective communication and time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Interest in public company accounting

Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, preferably in 3rd or 4th year

Work Environment

Work Location: On-site at CanWel Building Materials

Hours of Work: Full-time

Compensation

  • $21/hour
  • Commuting reimbursement
