Key Responsibilities- Child Development and Assessment: Assess the children's development to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
- Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest. Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
- Health and Safety: Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Collaboration and Communication: Establish guidelines for behavior. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
- Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and a criminal record check.
- Experience: Experience is an asset.
- Language: Fluency in English.
- Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
