Brandt Developments is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technologist to join our team in Regina. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assisting with contract administration and system drawings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis, calculations, and design of Mechanical systems for all projects.
  • Prepare contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
  • Develop Revit/AutoCAD drawings for mechanical systems, including layouts, schematics, specifications, and construction & technical details.
  • Collaborate with clients, authorities, and contractors as required.
  • Investigate preliminary mechanical layout options during the planning and schematic design process.
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender contract documents, and engineering reports.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, specifications that meet Brandt's needs and comply with sound engineering practices and standards.
  • Perform contract administration duties on projects, including attending meetings, travel, submittal reviews, supplemental instructions, price requests, site inspection reports, meeting minutes, and other aspects of the project.
  • Coordinate and follow up with project issues.
  • Review, evaluate, and improve upon Engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications.
  • Support the Building Design Team as required, including internal collaboration and assisting with other discipline technologist tasks to ensure project success.
  • Project cost monitoring and schedule control as requested.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Preference will be given to those with 3+ years' experience in a consulting office, with experience in design development, detailed design, design coordination, and contract administration construction services.
  • Must have either a certificate in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Proficiency with AutoDESK Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D is required.
  • Candidates are required to work on multiple projects and collaborate with a team of Engineers, Architects, and Technologists.
  • Enthusiastic individual with strong work ethic who is team & detail-oriented.
