Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician 2 to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will be responsible for reprocessing and sterilizing medical devices, ensuring they are safe and ready for use in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reprocess and sterilize complex surgical instruments, including disassembling, washing, and reassembling equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of instrument complexities and read surgical requirements to anticipate needs.
  • Operate sterilization systems, prepare devices for sterilization, and monitor quality assurance.
  • Handle and transport sterile supplies, applying principles of sterility and infection control.
  • Interact with operating room personnel to ensure supply issues are met and provide critical problem-solving and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Previous Medical Device Reprocessing Technician I experience required.
  • Previous case cart picking preferred.
  • Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Sterile Processing Technician program required.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves frequent exposure to infectious body and blood-borne organisms.
  • Position involves meticulous attention to detail and technical ability.
  • Must maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
