Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Culinary Services Manager/Cook to oversee the food service operations within our facility. This role involves managing a team of chefs/cooks and servers, coordinating meal preparation, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.



Responsibilities



  • Team Management: Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Menu Planning: Oversee menu planning and food production to meet dietary requirements.
  • Staffing: Conduct interviews and hire staff for various positions within the dietary department.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of food supplies and order as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Food Safety: Implement and monitor food safety protocols to comply with health regulations.
  • Nutrition Collaboration: Collaborate with nutritionists to create balanced meal options tailored to residents' needs.
  • Training: Train staff on proper food handling techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.


Requirements



  • Experience: Proven experience in team management within a food service or restaurant environment.
  • Skillset: Background in kitchen operations, including food preparation and bartending is preferred.
  • Leadership: Strong supervisory skills to lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Nutrition Knowledge: Knowledge of dietary guidelines and nutrition is beneficial.


Work Environment


This is a salaried position where you will be expected to cook 75% of the time and complete administrative functions 25% of the time.
