Construction Project Manager for Building and Infrastructure

At Pomerleau, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead our team in delivering successful building and infrastructure projects. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met within budget and schedule.

About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership and project management skills, as well as expertise in construction estimating and cost control. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in preconstruction management or a similar field and a proven track record of success in managing large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preconstruction phase of projects, including developing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and value engineering analyzes to optimize project scope and budget.
  • Manage the bidding process, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and vendors, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish project goals, objectives, and design criteria.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with construction projects, developing strategies to mitigate risks and maximize project success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in preconstruction management or a similar field.
  • Professional certifications such as PQS or PMP are an asset.
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and green building certifications is a plus.
