Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing layout information and direction to construction crews, ensuring accurate and timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Staking: Conduct day-to-day field staking in accordance with project design, ensuring accurate and efficient layout.
  • Quantity Calculation: Perform quantity pick-up and calculation, providing accurate data for project management.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with relevant parties, including design engineers and construction crews, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot survey layout and machine control data onsite, ensuring data accuracy and updating as necessary.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair all survey equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in GPS construction layout using Trimble or Topcon equipment.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in a surveyor program from an accredited technical school (asset) or high school diploma required.
  • Certifications: Valid Class 5 Driver's License, Safety tickets (Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance level 2, CSTS/OSSA BSO/CSO) considered an asset.
  • Skills: Flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Location: The ideal candidate will be based in Alberta, with an expectation to work primarily on site in the Wood Buffalo Region.
