Job Summary
The Island Health organization is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services to an Indigenous patient population with complex medical needs at the Snaw-Naw-As Health Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide low-barrier primary care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, past experiences with trauma, and significant social and cultural barriers to care.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of providers to deliver care to patients.
- Participate in an after-hours call group to provide coverage for patients.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.
- Experience working with Indigenous populations and knowledge of Indigenous health issues.
Working Conditions
The Snaw-Naw-As Health Centre is a 4-square-foot facility located on the hillside overlooking Nanoose Bay, BC. The Health Centre provides primary care and other health services to the Snaw-Naw-As people, of the Nanoose First Nation.
