Job Title: Engineering Manager, Data

Join our team as an Engineering Manager, Data at a leading hotel chain. This exciting opportunity will see you lead a team of engineers responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's engineering systems.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel. This includes dispatching, assigning, and directing engineering associates engaged in building operations, inspections, routine and non-routine repairs, and preventive maintenance on boilers, life safety, electrical, and mechanical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of engineers responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's engineering systems.
  2. Dispatch, assign, and direct engineering associates engaged in building operations, inspections, routine and non-routine repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  3. Ensure the engineering team responds to the needs of hotel guests, performing preventive maintenance or repair requests on all in-house systems and equipment.
  4. Communicate effectively with engineering associates, guests, vendors, and contractors.
  5. Responsible for the selection, training, and development of engineering team members.
  6. Monitor, direct, and review associates and contractors' scope on projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within acceptable standards.
  7. Create and implement fire and emergency procedures and roll out to all associates.
  8. Prepare, recommend, and implement an annual departmental operating budget and the hotel capital budget, monitoring progress throughout the year.
  9. Ensure departmental productivity, training, associate issues, and communications are implemented properly and to expected standards.
  10. Research and recommend service and material suppliers, ensuring efficient maintenance and scheduling.
  11. Maintain department organization through efficient maintenance and scheduling, ensuring up-to-date records.
  12. Enter and maintain various data on the facility, including equipment records and utility consumption, providing statistical and efficiency reports.
  13. Follow all company and job-specific safety policies, reporting any accidents and/or hazards immediately.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel rooms operations leadership, housekeeping experience preferred.
  2. Building Environmental Systems Class I&II, Systems Maintenance Technician, or equivalent certification preferred.
  3. Six years of building maintenance experience required, hotel environment preferred.
  4. Minimum five (5) years combined mechanical, electrical, life safety experience.
  5. Experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatics, mechanics, and controls preferred.
  6. Minimum five (5) years' experience using computerized word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
  7. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and late nights.
  8. Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills in working with associates, guests, vendors, and contractors required.
  9. Ability to read blueprints and technical data.
