About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Glass Cutter Specialist to join our team at Kismet Glass Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our glass finishing machines, ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Glass Finishing Machines
    • Grind, drill, sand, bevel, decorate, wash, or polish glass or glass products to meet quality standards
    • Set up and adjust machines to optimize production and minimize waste
  • Inspect and Quality Control
    • Visually inspect products for quality and accuracy
    • Identify and address any defects or issues
  • Machine Setup and Adjustment
    • Set up and adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing, and forming machines
    • Ensure machines are calibrated and functioning correctly
  • Manual Cutting and Preparation
    • Cut glass along marked outlines or around patterns using hand tools
    • Examine and mark defective glass to obtain the best cut
    • Place patterns on or under glass for cutting
    • Measure and mark glass for cutting
  • Post-Cutting Processing
    • Smooth rough edges using belt sanders or smoothing wheels
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
      • 5 years or more of experience in glass cutting and finishing
    • Physical Demands
      • Repetitive tasks
      • Handling heavy loads
      • Physically demanding
      • Attention to detail
      • Hand-eye coordination
      • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
      • Standing for extended periods
