Job Title: Construction Trades Helper

We are seeking a skilled Construction Trades Helper to join our team at Jagir Contracting Inc. As a key member of our construction team, you will assist in various aspects of construction projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt under the supervision of experienced tradespeople.
  • Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction and assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Participate in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, ensuring accurate measurements and precise execution.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications, ensuring a smooth and even surface.
  • Pave and rake asphalt, maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.
  • Assist in demolishing buildings, safely and efficiently removing debris and materials.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials, adhering to environmental and safety regulations.
  • Respond to chemical spills and other contaminants, taking prompt action to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites, ensuring the safety of workers and the general public.
Requirements:
  • Experience in construction or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and physically demanding tasks.
  • Flexibility and reliability are essential in this role.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work at heights, underground, and in dusty environments.
Work Environment:

Our construction sites are dynamic and fast-paced, with a focus on delivering high-quality results. As a Construction Trades Helper, you will work in a variety of settings, including outdoors, at heights, and in underground environments.

Language:

The primary language of work is English, and proficiency in this language is required.Work Schedule:

Our standard work schedule is 35 to 40 hours per week, with overtime required as needed.
