As a key member of the Executive Wing team, we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities- Internal Machining Expertise: Focus on reducing machining times and improving machine utilization.
- Perform time study analysis, implement quick changeover tooling, and facilitate cutting tool and cycle time improvements.
- Determine proper fixture and tooling requirements for machining and possible assembly.
- Develop fixtures, jigs, and other devices for machining.
- Aid Rapid Product Development group in optimizing new product machining, setting initial product and process standards.
- Coordinate designs and details with other departments to ensure interdepartmental functionality and technical specification compliance.
- Aid in capital justification and run-off of new equipment.
- Work with key personnel to develop new products.
- Periodically review existing manufacturing processes for productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide shop support and decisions necessary to solve complex problems and trouble-shoot.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and standards.
- Continually implement cost reductions on the manufacturing floor.
- Develop operator training programs and preventative maintenance requirements on all new equipment.
- Maintain a sense of urgency for priority assignments.
- Graduate of mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering program.
- Must have CNC programming and setup experience, ability to support CNC & CMM programming requirements through Gibbs CAM and PCDMIS or related software.
- Knowledge of SPC methods, process, and machine capability requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and good computer skills.
- Ability to solve/analyze complex manufacturing and assembly problems.
- Must actively take the initiative in developing own skills.
- Must have an active and sustained interest in and enthusiasm for the engineered world (problem solving, etc).
- Competently read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to multi-task under pressure.
- Willing to continuously learn.
- Positive attitude.
