As a key member of the Valard Group of Companies, this esteemed role is responsible for spearheading a team of skilled solution architects, application architects, and business analysts in crafting, maintaining, and evolving both existing and new business applications.

Key Responsibilities

This position focuses on striking a balance between tactical aspects of application development and strategic planning, ensuring that solutions align with organizational goals and deliver tangible value. The Technical Application Strategist will dedicate approximately 60% of their time working hands-on with teams to implement and optimize systems and 40% on strategic initiatives, such as developing business cases, roadmaps, and return on investment (ROI/TCO) analysis for leadership approval.

  • Tactical (60%)
  • Lead Development & Implementation: Provide expert guidance to application and solution architects in the design, build, and deployment of applications, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful delivery.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in collaboration with the development team.
  • Best Practices & Standards: Enforce development best practices, code standards, and architectural guidelines to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee testing protocols and ensure that applications meet quality benchmarks before deployment.
  • Documentation & Training: Ensure that comprehensive documentation is maintained for all applications and systems, and that the team receives appropriate training.
Vision & Strategy (40%)

This pivotal role encompasses the following key responsibilities:

  • Buisness Case Development: Partner with business stakeholders to develop business cases and present justifications for new applications or major updates to existing systems, including cost-benefit analyses and projected ROI. Develop and maintain a forward-looking application roadmap, balancing short-term business needs with long-term strategic goals.
  • Technology Strategy Alignment: Ensure application development and maintenance strategies align with broader organizational goals, particularly in areas of digital transformation, automation, and cloud adoption.
  • Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Work with senior leadership to develop and manage budgets for application development projects, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources.

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, based on industry standards and comparable positions within the region.
