Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, including adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, and confirm findings with a supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace a unit.
  • Discuss work with a supervisor to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Review work orders to understand the scope of work and ensure that all necessary tasks are completed.
  • Test automotive systems and components to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, truck-trailer systems, and other related equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service to ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and running efficiently.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed, ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced mechanics. The work site will be outdoors, with exposure to dust, heat, and noise.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential for this role.
