Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production and manufacturing by ensuring supplies are provided in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and reliable service to internal and external customers.
  • Work in accordance with Giesecke+Devrient policies and procedures.
  • Perform data entry tasks as required, utilizing SAP systems.
  • Conduct inventory and cycle counts as scheduled or assigned by the Warehouse Lead Hand.
  • Evaluate and escalate business or safety concerns to the Lead Hand or Supervisor when necessary.
  • Adhere to corporate security and safety policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload transport trucks.
  • Move materials between departments as required.
  • Load and stockpile materials onto shelves or skids.
  • Perform daily safety and equipment inspections in accordance with Giesecke+Devrient policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and workstations.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvements to the Supervisor or Lead Hand.
  • Comply with Giesecke+Devrient Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and procedures, and report any hazards, incidents, or concerns to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Lead Hand or Supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • System application knowledge (SAP) is an asset.
  • Shipping, receiving, and mail handling experience is an asset.
  • Forklift certification or license is required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is preferred.
