Accounting Analyst Role

Spark Power Corp is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Analyst to join our team in Oakville. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for full cycle accounting responsibilities, including the month-end process for corporate and consolidation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate account balances and bank statements
  • Manage the general ledger and oversee the month-end/year-end close processes, including lease accounting
  • Ensure timely and accurate group intercompany elimination on a monthly basis
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and actuals at a consolidated level
  • Prepare and present cash flow reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform corporate bank reconciliations, including credit card reconciliation for corporate credit cards
  • Develop and maintain company accounting procedures and processes
  • Record and analyze financial information for decision-making purposes
  • Collaborate with the Manager, FP&A to prepare documents and interpret financial information for senior management
  • Provide guidance on financial management and develop procedures to improve efficiency
  • Assist with audits and taxes, ensuring compliance with internal processes
  • Prepare financial reports for regulatory agencies and stockholders
Requirements:
  • University education in Accounting
  • Working towards completion of CPA (or equivalent) accounting designation
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a bookkeeping and/or junior accountant capacity
  • Experience with Netsuite is a strong asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a positive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
