The Facilities Superintendent will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all fixed assets, buildings, and grounds to ensure they are in optimal working order.

This role will involve arranging and executing preventative and energy repairs and upkeep of buildings, ensuring that all support equipment is operating efficiently and as designed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine inspections of all buildings, grounds, and support equipment, including company vehicles.

They will also be responsible for managing waste, recyclables, and hazardous materials, as well as maintaining building security systems.

Additionally, the Facilities Superintendent will manage lawn care services, snow removal services, and parking lots.

They will also be responsible for managing Janitorial services contracts, drinking water services, and City Permits for all buildings.

The successful candidate will ensure that Fire Safety Equipment complies with Fire Code and that fire safety procedures are followed on an annual basis.

They will also be responsible for carrying out scheduled inspections, including monthly JHSC inspections, annual site evaluations, health & safety audits, and preventative maintenance.

The Facilities Superintendent will provide technical or administrative advice to internal and external clients and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a College Diploma and 5+ years of direct work experience as a Facilities Superintendent in an industrial environment.

They will also require WHMIS and Fall Arrest training, a valid Drivers License (G or higher), and excellent communication and organizational skills.

The successful candidate will also have intermediate level MS Office skills and be able to effectively use time management and organizational skills.

They will be willing to wear required PPE (safety boots, eyeglasses, hard hat, protective gloves) as needed and be willing to travel between plant locations at times.
