Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Permits and Approvals Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time onsite position at our downtown office, reporting to the Environmental Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of environmental permits and approvals for transit projects in Ontario.
  • Coordinate with the design team to ensure compliance with environmental obligations and technical requirements.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and government agencies to obtain feedback and approvals.
  • Lead the coordination and scheduling of meetings with stakeholders and prepare and submit plans, reports, and documents as required.
  • Ensure effective development, tracking, and monitoring of environmental and sustainability metrics and permits and approvals.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental planning, municipal planning, building, construction, and/or engineering.
  • Knowledge of and experience acquiring permits, licenses, and approvals for major infrastructure and transit projects.
  • Relevant degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in urban planning, engineering, environmental studies, architecture, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and permitting requirements, including Ontario Water Resources Act, Building Code, Planning Act (Ontario), Metrolinx Act, 2006 (Ontario), Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended from time to time.
