About the Role
The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our Water Division, specifically in the area of water and infrastructure planning. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the development and implementation of engineering projects related to water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technicians on project-related tasks.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess the condition of existing infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement hydraulic models to analyze and optimize water distribution systems.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior management and external agencies.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in water infrastructure planning and design.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in water infrastructure planning and design.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of municipal class environmental assessment process and federal, provincial, and municipal regulations related to water infrastructure.
- Valid Province of Ontario class "G" driver's license and eligibility to qualify for a City driver's permit.
