Occupational Therapy Specialist - Adult Physical Medicine

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Specialist to join our team at William Osler Health System. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will provide quality occupational therapy services to patients in adult physical medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the physical, perceptual, cognitive, and functional status of patients
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to enhance overall functioning and promote independence
  • Provide education to patients, families, and healthcare teams on occupational therapy techniques and strategies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Registration and good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Membership in CAOT or OSOT preferred
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
  • Recent experience in adult physical medicine
  • Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to general medicine and rehab clients
  • Experience with psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual, and physical health-related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high caseload volumes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
