Job Title: Wall and Ceiling Installer

Evalex Contracting Corporation is seeking a skilled Wall and Ceiling Installer to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing walls and ceilings to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and finish walls and ceilings using plaster, drywall, and other materials
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure durability
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to meet project requirements
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency for a strong and durable finish
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists for a secure installation
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry for a professional finish
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs for a sturdy and durable installation
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation for a comfortable and energy-efficient space
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to meet project requirements
  • Estimate costs and materials for a project
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights and in confined spaces. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
