We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in Vancouver. As an integral part of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for preparing the operating room for surgery, organizing instruments and equipment, and assisting ophthalmologists during procedures.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in nursing, with experience in intensive care and/or operating room settings. Perioperative course certification and basic life support (BLS) certification are also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for surgery, including setting up instruments, consumables, and medications.
  • Organize instruments, equipment, and sterile scrub tables as required.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Monitor surgeries to ensure everything remains sterile.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as charting and communication with patients and staff.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $38.85-$46.62/hr, permanent part-time position (2-3 days/week), and a relocation bonus to Vancouver. Our benefits package includes three weeks of vacation, three sick days, one floater day, and one wellness day. We also offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and RRSP match.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A valid registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Perioperative course certification.
  • Experience in intensive care and/or operating room settings is considered an asset.
  • A strong interest in health and technology.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
