Job Title: Senior Engineer

Join the City of Toronto's Engineering and Construction Services Division as a Senior Engineer in the Bridges and Expressways section. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing project management, technical expertise, and engineering knowledge on the planning, design, and construction of the City's most complex bridge infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a variety of assigned engineering projects, including ongoing or annual City-wide engineering programs, special projects, and new initiatives.
  • Direct multi-disciplinary project team staff, mentor engineers and technical personnel, and assist in preparing budgets.
  • Perform site inspections, ensure compliance, and implement quality control/quality assurance.
  • Conduct research into assigned areas and provide specialized design services and technical advice to support varied units.
Requirements:
  • Completion of post-secondary education degree or diploma in civil and/or structural engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience in civil and structural engineering principles, materials, methods of construction, and good knowledge of roadway design.
  • Extensive project management experience from inception to implementation, including planning, design, and construction of public works infrastructure.
  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or licensing as a professional engineer in good standing in another Canadian engineering association.
