L3Harris Technologies is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer, Product Integration, Validation, and Verification to join our team. This role is responsible for all aspects of the verification and validation of naval communications systems for military and commercial applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system design and test methodologies, as well as experience with integration and test of military or commercial systems. They will be responsible for testing design, planning, automating, and executing tests to deliver a product of the highest quality.

In this role, you will work closely with embedded software designers, hardware designers, product owners, and stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of the product and testing objectives. You will participate in design reviews to ensure design requirements are testable and define test specifications covering low to complex system or integration functionalities.

You will also develop and document test plans, execute tests, and generate reports. Additionally, you will define and set up the test and validation environment, including scripts development and potentially contacting vendors for samples and quotations.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role. They will also have experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Lua, JavaScript, Bash, XML, and JSON, as well as knowledge of protocols, such as TCP, IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, and SSH.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Interact with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of the product and testing objectives.
  2. Participate in design reviews to ensure design requirements are testable.
  3. Define test specifications covering low to complex system or integration functionalities.
  4. Develop and document test plans, execute tests, and generate reports.
  5. Define and set up the test and validation environment, including scripts development.
  6. Develop and run automated tests covering functionality and diagnostic requirements.
  7. Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.
  8. Debug test failures and analyze root causes.
  9. Train individuals involved in verification and validation activities as needed.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Experience with integration and test of military or commercial systems.
  4. Knowledge of naval communication systems.
  5. Resolution of technical issues arising during the implementation, integration, and testing of the system and subsystem elements.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills (English and/or French).
  7. Excellent understanding of verification methodology and software development life cycle.
  8. Knowledge of protocols (TCP, IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, SSH, etc.).
  9. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Lua, JavaScript, Bash, XML, JSON, etc.).
  10. Experience in different hypervisors (KVM, VMware, VirtualBox, etc.).
  11. Solid experience in test automation and continuous integration.
  12. Solid experience in functional and performance testing.

  8. Working knowledge of typical military standards used for system design and test.
  9. Knowledge of naval and commercial certification standards and processes.
  10. Proficient in MS Office tools.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
  2. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
  3. Must be eligible to meet the requirements for (ITAR).
  4. For on-site positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
