We're seeking a skilled Commercial Lines Underwriter II to join our team at Intact. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating moderate to complex risks, applying effective pricing and underwriting strategies, and negotiating with clients to develop and retain profitable business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate moderate to complex risks to determine insurance coverage and premiums.
- Apply business acumen and underwriting expertise to develop and implement effective pricing and underwriting strategies.
- Negotiate with clients to secure new business, renewals, and endorsements, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
- Participate in business development activities, such as broker visits and industry events, to build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless underwriting processes and efficient risk management.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices to maintain expertise and provide exceptional service to clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, finance, or risk management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in underwriting, risk assessment, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
