Job Title: Frontend Developer

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Developer to join our team at Axelon Services Corporation. As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing the user interface and user experience of our web applications.

About the Role:

This is a 12-month contract position based in Montreal, QC. You will be working on a risk application that spans the entire Global Institutional Equity Division front office. The application will present real-time and historic risk and P&L to traders and risk managers, enabling drill-down into risk and P&L detail, pivoting the data in numerous ways, and interacting with other trading tools in the front office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop the user interface and user experience of our web applications using React and other relevant technologies.
  • Work with the development team to ensure seamless integration with the back-end systems.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to translate UX designs into actual product implementation.
  • Ensure the scalability and performance of the application to support 1000+ users at a time.
  • Manage the deployments and build frameworks, as well as the large codebase/monorepos supporting development of the UI platform.
Requirements:
  • 3-10 years of post-academic work experience with frontend solutions (Angular and/or React, nodeJS, JS frameworks).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience in managing User Interfaces for data-intensive platforms.
  • Expertise in Object-Oriented Design, Design patterns, Architecture, and Application Integration.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed tech stack with modern tools of development.
  • Hands-on experience with core dev-ops tooling and best practices and manage this at a platform level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing the deployments and build frameworks.
  • Experience in managing the large codebase/monorepos supporting development of the UI platform.
  • Experience in building and owning common reusable components for UIs.
  • Experience in collaborating with global stakeholders for product development.
  • Ability to manage the UX designers and translate UX designs into actual product implementation.
  • Ability to co-ordinate across large teams and ensure product development per multi-year roadmap.
