About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to join our team as a Geological Sciences Professor in Post-Secondary Education. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a meaningful contribution to the educational landscape.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering theory and practical components of all courses outlined, with a focus on geological sciences. Key responsibilities include:
- Instructing students in classroom and shop settings, facilitating learning, and evaluating student progress.
- Planning, organizing, and managing learning activities and resources to achieve specified learning outcomes and meet course objectives.
- Establishing student performance objectives and evaluation methods, and meeting with students regularly to gauge and evaluate progress.
- Communicating effectively at a level appropriate to the ability of students and maintaining a supportive learning environment.
- Participating in professional development activities to remain current in their field and post-secondary education profession.
The successful candidate must possess:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the mining industry.
- An understanding of methods used to teach course concepts and classroom management.
- Effective communication, analytical, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with the College of the North Atlantic Faculty Collective Agreement.
