The Senior Java Developer is an intermediate-level position responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role contributes to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, and model development.
  2. Monitor and control all phases of development, including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
  3. Provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
  4. Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems and make evaluative judgments.
  5. Act as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
  6. Assess risk when business decisions are made and demonstrate consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets.

Requirements:

  1. 8-10 years of overall IT experience.
  2. Experience in building Java-based applications.
  3. Strong development experience with troubleshooting skills.
  4. Previous experience with Hadoop stack, HDFS, Yarn resourcing, and Zookeeper interactions.
  5. Good SQL knowledge on Hive/Impala.
  6. Basic data warehousing concepts.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
